The Emperor

The Emperor is a mind flayer who broke free from the control of its elder brain and, for a time, influenced the politics of Baldur's Gate by allying with Duke Belynne Stelmane and secretly controlling the Knights of the Shield. However, its true nature was discovered by Enver Gortash, who put it under the control of an elder brain again and sent it to retrieve a powerful gith artifact.
