Mortal Kombat is a series of science fantasy-themed fighting games created by Midway Games in 1992 and currently developed by NetherRealm Studios.

The games take place in a universe where realms can conquer one another after ten consecutive wins in a deadly tournament known as the Mortal Kombat.

Due to this, Earth faces constant threat from more aggressive realms such as Outworld, and its defenders will have to fight to save their home from invaders.
